Margaret & Sarah was founded in 2009 by a mother and daughter who shared one simple belief: every woman deserves to feel completely at home in what she wears.
What began as a small collection, chosen together, has grown into something bigger, but its heart has never changed.
How It All Started
It started with a jumper neither of us could agree on.
A mother and a daughter, twenty years apart, with very different bodies, styles, and ideas about how clothing should feel. What looked beautiful on Sarah felt completely wrong on Margaret and what Margaret loved, Sarah wouldn't be seen in. We laughed about it for years, until we realised almost every woman we knew had the same problem.
Clothes designed for one type of woman. One narrow idea of what a good fit was actually supposed to mean. So we decided to build something different.

Every piece in our store is hand-chosen based on one question: does this actually look good on someone, or does it just look good on a hanger?
We don't chase trends. We look for clothing that works in real life pieces that move with you, that fit without a fuss, and that make you feel like yourself on a really, really good day.

Our customers came to us in ways we never expected. Women who came in for one dress and stayed for the conversation. Women who told their daughters, their mothers, their closest friends.
